Ich habe mich für dieses Hörbuch entschieden, weil ich mehr über Patrick Rothfuss' Bast aus der Königsmörderchronik wissen wollte.
Das Vorwort von George R.R. Martin kann ich jedem Empfehlen, der selbst darüber nachdenkt, eine Geschichte zu schreiben, die evtl. irgendwann mal veröffentlicht werden sollte! Ich fand es sehr informativ, logisch und hilfreich. Inspirierend. Er hat mich mit diesen Worten sehr beeindruckt, obwohl ich vorher schon wusste, dass er ein begnadeter Autor ist, der weiß, was er tut.

Zu den Kurzgeschichten muss ich sagen, es sind sehr viele, was ich nicht erwartet habe. Einige sind für mich leicht verständlich gewesen, andere musste ich zweimal hören, um ihnen folgen zu können. Aber alle bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen sind wunderbar passend und sehr deutlich in wunderschönem Englisch vorgelesen.

Um zu meinem Hauptaugenmerk zurück zu kommen, wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Basts Kurzgeschichte ist wundervoll lang und faszinierend, wie sie sein sollte. Meine Neugier ist erst einmal gestillt, bis der dritte (in Deutschland 4.) Teil der Königsmörderchronik (ENDLICH) erscheint.

Ich habe bekommen, was ich wollte und noch mehr.

Diese Anthologie enthält viele gute und unterhaltsame Geschichten, nicht jede war mein Ding, aber bei insgesamt 30 Stunden Inhalt eine klare Empfehlung.

Wie alle Zusammenstellungen gemischte Ergebnisse. Einiges unbekanntes das Interesse für mehr wecken kann. Bei anderem muss man sich dann eben nicht mehr die Mühe machen. Enttäuschend der einzige Beitrag von J.R.R. Martin. Sollte das der einzige Grund für den Kauf sein ist eher abzuraten.
