Die Geschichte spielt in unserer Welt und hat eine interessante Idee, dient danach aber nur als Vorwand um sich an Waffen und Kriegsgerät im Einsatz zu ergötzen. Selbstverständlich sind die Amis die Guten und die Russen die Bösen, der Rest steht fast nur im Weg rum. Unrealistische Höhepunkte für den Autor sind dort wo Amis und Russen sich direkt bekriegen ohne dass diese Konflikte global eskalieren.
