They say life is a bowl of cherries. Unfortunately, Daisy kept getting the pits.
Escaping from deranged cyborgs and a malcontent artificial intelligence had been the run of Daisy’s life, but one from which she had miraculously come out the other side, and in one piece, no less. Unfortunately for her, she had survived that ordeal only to find herself in a far deeper mess.
With an even more dangerous turn of events throwing her in harm’s way, Daisy’s original plight was now dwarfed by the new issues at hand. Issues involving not only her crew mates and herself, but threats on a global level. Earth was in jeopardy, and much as she hated to admit it, Daisy, it seemed, was its best hope.
Driven into action and forced to rely not only on her own wits but also the voice in her head and tirelessly watching her back, Daisy found her newfound skills tested to their limits and quite nearly to their breaking point.
Unfortunately for her adversaries, they didn’t know just who it was they were pushing around, because Daisy was most definitely not to be trifled with. She was the woman who pushed back.

What the hell is with all this magical garbage in this Sci-Fi story, sure we already had some of that in the 1st book, but it was in slow doses and had to do with mostly mindstuff wich is much more easily explained away than a fricking magical bonesword that grew from the bones of the protagonist.
And why in hell is Daisy suddenly so incompetent? Yea, I already know why, the author realised that Daisy made most of the other crew insignificant because she can do everything alone. But instead of finding a way to strengthen the crew members or create a problem she can't overcome on her own, Daisy gets a strength dampener wich only works when the story needs someone else to be faster, stronger or smarter than Daisy. Also in this book she sometimes sounds more like a kid instead of the young woman from the 1st book.
Then this setup with the baby AI core is such a clear trope that it hurts: "Mommy don't leave me alone!" "Yes Baby I promise to never leave you alone." -> go to next chapter -> Mommy leaves without even saying "good bye"
This really made me angry, such a wonderful unique story flushed down the pipe just because the author needed more mystical garbage and lost control over the development of the protagonists strength.
Such a disappointment
