Najtrafniejsze
trotz der mühevollen Dramaturgie, die gegenüber anderen Kriminalroman herausragende Sprache und Erzählweise von P.D. James verloren geht.
Die Kritik bzgl. Frauen geht m. E. fehl. In vielen Geschichten sind hier die Männer die Charakterschweine 😉
Leider hätten die alten Aufnahmen einer (weiteren ?) technischen Verbesserung bedurft.

Die Bücher sind besser, weil

These crime stories are slow-paced and features many weird upper-class characters, but they are thoroughly entertaining. It is sometimes hard to guess if these stories are set in the 40s or 80s as all of them are populated by Lords, Ladies, butlers and maids. So if you're into social revolution and the rise of the working classes -- this isn't your cup of tea. But if you can appreciate human tragedy even in its most aristocratic forms, you'll enjoy these recordings as much as I did.

Nach 3 Geschichten musste ich abbrechen. PD James ist eine dieser Autorinnen, die andere Frauen hasst und beneidet. Die weiblichen Charaktere sind fast durchweg böse, rachsüchtig, berechnend und selbstsüchtig. Die Männer können gar nichts für ihre Verbrechen, wurden von Frauen verführt und dazu getrieben. Erfolgreiche Frauen haben Abtreibungen wie Zahnreinigungen und benutzen diese um die armen Männer zu erpressen. Kluge Frauen sind auch regelhaft schlechte Mütter und Ehebrecherinnen. Weniger Literatur und mehr Therapie hätten Ms. James sicher gut getan...
