Master storyteller Stephen King presents the classic #1 New York Times bestseller about a mysterious store than can sell you whatever you desire—but not without exacting a terrible price in return.

The town of Castle Rock, Maine, has seen its fair share of oddities over the years, but nothing is as peculiar as the little curio shop that’s just opened for business here. Its mysterious proprietor, Leland Gaunt, seems to have something for everyone out on display at Needful Things…interesting items that run the gamut from worthless to priceless. Nothing has a price tag in this place, but everything is certainly for sale. The heart’s desire for any resident of Castle Rock can easily be found among the curiosities…in exchange for a little money and—at the specific request of Leland Gaunt—a whole lot of menace against their fellow neighbors. Everyone in town seems willing to make a deal at Needful Things, but the devil is in the details. And no one takes heed of the little sign hanging on the wall: Caveat emptor. In other words, let the buyer beware… Beletrystyka popularna Filmy, gry telewizyjne i wideo Horror Małe miasta i obszary wiejskie Thrillery Zjawiska nadprzyrodzone

My second SK book, after Carrie. Really loved the story. The beginning was hella confusing with all the names and short descriptions of the townsfolk but as the story moved along you got a pretty great idea who's who..for the most important character's anyway. Absolutely loved the character of Leyland Gaunt (don't know the right spelling sorry) he was brilliantly charming and scary at the same time. Loved the insane ending too, very fresh horror story, can only recommend.

Great thrilling story and perfectly narrated

I can just say, that I love this book. It's brilliantly written and then also read from the master himself. It was a delight to listen to him.

From now on my favorite King book

Once again, the master himself is reading to us. And he does so in the best possible way. Every character is easily decernible by the tone of voice he lends her/him. His modulation is perfect and gripping and yet - the story isn’t. It just follows a pattern that’s repeating for each and every character in the book, expectedly bringing out the worst in them, again and again. The bloody and violent end is all to inevitable. Actually it’s my first „King“ I deleted from my smartphone, an hour and a half before the end, after quite a lot of „skipping pages“.

Brutal, yet boring

The music played in some sections while reading is completely unnecessary and distracting while adding nothing to the story.

The music is distracting

I love the story.
I love a story read by the author.
But WHY this bad quality, far too loud (compared to Kings voice) sounds and music??
I can't stand hearing it - I wish I could give it back.
For me it's wasted money :(

Why??
