There was a new shop in town. Run by a stranger.

Needful Things, the sign said. The oddest name. A name that caused some gossip and speculation among the good folks of Castle Rock, Maine, while they waited for opening day.

Eleven-year-old Brian Rusk was the first customer and he got just what he wanted, a very rare 1956 Sandy Koufax baseball card. Signed. Cyndi Rose Martin was next. A Lalique vase. A perfect match for her living room decor.

Something for everyone. Something you really had to have. And always at a price you could just about afford. The cash price that is. Because there was another price. There always is when your heart's most secret, true desire is for sale . . .

Opinie krytyków

An incredibly gifted writer, whose writing . . . is so fluid that you often forget that you're reading.
A sophisticated literary craftsman . . . his work anatomises . . . the social fabric of small-town American life.

One of King's best Books, gladly give it five stars...but the music and sound effects are annoying and sometimes even distracting!!! It's a book not a movie!!Please stop doing that!!!

I always try to guess how Stephen King will end a story, and I’m almost always surprised. I will admit, I didn’t expect this ending, but it works.

It’s always interesting to me to hear the author read their books, because this way you get all the tones and inflictions they imagined when creating their works.

Ending was surprising

Trepidant. If I only had one word for this book it would be trepidant. It moves quickly, it builds the characters consistently up, there are no loose ends or "cul de sacks". I appreciate the effort from the author in the reading, not professional at times but always authentic. When possible, I like the voice of the writer backing up his/her work.
It is pure King. What you see, is what you get.

Wie das Werk ist kann sich jeder selbst ergoogeln. Die Aufnahme- und Audioqualität ist jedoch eher mau.

Gute Story

A classic King story, slow burn in the beginning, gripping till the very end.
