Anfangs war ich sehr enttäuscht, da die Geschichte äußerst an "Ziemlich beste Freunde" erinnert. Ich wollte das Hörbuch sogar umtauschen, doch war dies nicht möglich. Schließlich habe ich doch weiter gehört und bin begeistert, wie sich die Geschichte entwickelt!

Es dauert eine Weile, bis man “drin” ist, aber dann ist es super spannend, interessant und sehr emotional.

Ich fand es toll, dass die Sprecher die unterschiedlichen englischen Akzente gesprochen haben. Sogar den New Zealand Akzent habe ich wieder erkannt.

Die charakterliche Entwicklung der Charaktere ist gut dargestellt und inspiriert dazu sein eigenes Leben zu überdenken.

I watched the movie 10 years ago and it really resonated with me. I decided to read the book because I am at the moment struggling in a similar way as the main character.

I found the story beautifully written although a bit too long at times.

Regarding the narration, I couldn't help to notice there are voice actors for every main character but they only appear in "their" chapters. I found that a shame because I believe I would have enjoyed the audiobook much more if it was acted out as a radio drama.

Finally, the ending credits were quite immersion breaking. Hearing ads and corporate talk after such an emotional story and ending was quite annoying.

Die Geschichte erinnert ein bisschen an "Ziemlich beste Freunde" ist aber natürlich doch anders. Es hört sich gut und man ist in der Geschichte auch schnell drin und wird nicht unnötig mit Vor- oder Rückblicken verwirrt.
Wer z.B auf "P.S. Ich liebe Dich" stand, wird dies Buch genau so mögen.
