Alexis Hall
Drew’s always prided himself on being the “right” kind of nerd. He plays sports, has a solid group of friends, and never had any problem talking to girls. Sure, he spends time playing Heroes of Legend, the biggest MMORPG on the planet, but it’s just a fun hobby, not his identity. Falling for someone in a video game? Not his style.
Until it is.
Enter Kit: witty, kind, razor-sharp, and a healer who’s saved Drew’s virtual skin more times than he can count. She’s also, turns out, a boy in real life. The realization knocks Drew off-balance, but it doesn’t take long for him to figure out the simple truth—he likes Kit, no matter Kit’s gender.
The real challenge? Kit’s reality is leagues apart from Drew’s. Being online is his life, and while he’s willing to come out of his shell an inch at a time, there’s such a wide gulf between them that Drew’s left wondering: can love truly bridge the distance…or are they fated to remain in separate worlds forever?

Not only could I dive into one but two worlds at the same time, all the while feeling as if I was part of it; even more so during the in-game raids. I almost want to buy a new laptop to start playing MMORPGs again :)
Unlike Hall‘s previous novels, this one was pretty PG13 which isn’t necessarily bad, yet I had hoped for at least some spice. Hopefully, there will be more (audio)books like this in the future.
A unique blend of traditional audiobook and audiodrama

The humor really got me and I always love when I can actually hear it in the narrators voices, like they really are smiling at the joke. It started with the reading of the glossary, which sounded so cheeky and fun, and went through the whole book.
If you're even slightly into gaming (board or pc) this book feels so like home and a bit nostalgic.
I had a wonderful, wonderful experience with this. Thank you so much.
Wonderful

I felt that the topics were covered in a compassionate way.
The queerphobia happening, for example, is not the "I hate you, cause you're a homosexual" kind of queerphobia, but the much subtler one, that gets overlooked more easily.
Although the book covers topics that can cause stress and do so for the characters, the story never feels very heavy, The content warning "queerphobia - challenged" was the first time I chuckled and I think it sums it up pretty neatly.
To avoid spoilers, I will keep it very vague, but I am happy that this book exists.
I had a great time listening
