Three fleets aim to wipe out a planet.

One team must raise the alarm...and time is running out.

As Moldark turns his attention to Capriana Prime, Magnus and his gladias attempt to convince the Republic’s leadership to raise the planetary defense shield. But this seemingly simple task turns out to be more difficult than anyone expected, placing the planet’s population in grave jeopardy.

Desperate to save the capital, Magnus and the Gladio Umbra fight to save the seat of galactic rule at all costs.

Azelon isn’t without her tricks, however, and provides new hardware for Magnus—the BATRIG mechanized battle armament system.

But as time runs out, Magnus is faced with the hardest choices of his life...and gambles will be made.

All for the greater good.

Includes a special note from the authors.

The Ruins of the Galaxy series is now performed by Christopher Ryan Grant, narrator of the bestselling sci-fi series Strange Company.

After five books by R.C. Bray this particular one being read by Christopher Ryan Grant was a challenge.
I needed to play with different settings of playback speed in order to be able to tolerate the slow talk and pronunciation by Grant. I first didn't know what to do about the challenging slow pronunciation and unusual slow manner of speaking. I soon settled on 5% increased speed, only to set it to 7% faster speed soon after. By the 30minute mark I was more or less confident that 10% faster Playback speed would suffice.

It did. But please consider hearing yourselves before unloading to audible. Anything slower than 1.1 times the original playback speed was unbearable for longer periods.

The story was better than expected. Thanks.
However I will stick to R.C. Bray from now on. It saves me a lot of spent energy which I usually set out to replenish by listening to an audiobook like this.

If you like it slow hear it at speed 1.0

If you had the best, a very good performer is simple not quite getting to you. Sorry Christopher II, good Job, but… the characters one knew so intimately have changed
Still I keep on listening - when can we get the next Ruins of the Earth???

RCBray remains unrivalled

Expeditionary Force is shoot´m up military scifi but Skippy the AI made it much more. Ruins of the Galaxy starts to get old after infinite descriptions of Blaster damage. The characters changed and slowly became superficial. The dialog turned into an old fashioned childish Dick and Jane story ... see Spot run, See Jane fire a blaster. Charcter X says one word , character Y responds with one word. Rinse and repeat. Boring. Losing RC Gray made in unbearable ... could not finish.

Pretty bad
