O tym tytule

#1 bestselling author John Green makes his much-anticipated return with a behind-the-scenes Hollywood love story.

For rising stars Kai Laramie and Juniper Castillo, being cast in the buzzy biopic Andy Warhol Never Gets Old is the opportunity they’ve both been waiting for. Soon the movie is blowing up, and so are their lives – in exciting, but also terrifying, ways.

John Green artfully blends a behind-the-scenes Hollywood love story with an examination of the private cost of a public life, in this masterful tale of two young people figuring out who they are, both together and alone.

Tender, heartbreaking and shrewdly funny, Hollywood, Ending is a deeply observed novel about finding your someone to trust in an untrustworthy world, and the audacity to pursue the kind of love we all deserve.

Opinie krytyków

In an era in which more and more people must market themselves on social media, courting the dizzying highs and crushing lows of fame, Green still hopes we’ll find something better
Thought-provoking and captivating
Green’s novel of betrayal and survival, trust and love is a fluent condemnation of the machine of commercialization and a paean to art . . . A spellbinding, tender, incisive, funny, and compassionate story of love and creativity.
Wise, tender and engaging
A classic portrait of young love
Sharply relevant in today’s landscape of constant attention and the pressure of a public life
Green’s storytelling is astute, empathic, and magnetizing
Green’s a tender writer whose abiding concern through all his work is what it takes to remain decent in a ruthless and impersonal world. Once, that might have seemed a sentimental question. Today, it is more crucial than ever
A love story but also an interrogation of modern stardom, art and the struggle to be real in a social media-fueled world of artifice and performance. Come for the Hollywood intel, stay for the breathtaking passages
In the author’s anguished portrait of modern fame, the most challenging performance is that of an authentic self . . . Kai emerges vividly on the page. Green depicts the young man’s bewilderment with radiant empathy

John Green,
this book once again moved me so deeply in many ways. I am truly grateful to have been able to listen to it. Especially with those outstanding performances for Kai and Juniper.
I cannot overstate how much I love your work. I am blessed to have the privilege of listening to your stories. What a gift.
I found myself in the love Kai and Juniper share and in all of the facets of their relationship. It felt very authentic to my own experience of life as a young adult.
Thank you.

Break my heart again.

I don't think of it as a thrilling story, and that's what I liked about it. Nothing pushes you forward with cliffhangers. It just takes you along, gently, and somewhere in the first hour you notice you've stopped checking the time. I listened to it in one sitting, which meant staying up all night, and I don't regret a minute of it.
The lightness of the narration is what makes it work. The story never feels heavy or preachy. But every so often something lands, a sentence or a small moment that is quietly devastating, and it stays with you longer than any plot twist would. Those moments are scattered throughout rather than saved for a big finale, which is why they hit so hard.
If you want a book that demands your full attention, this may not be it. If you want to be carried along by two beautiful voices you can trust, and be surprised by how much it moves you, it's a good one for a long night.

A beautiful Masterpiece

This book has so many facets that are connected really, really well and that are all super interesting on their own. You see the world through the lense of Hollywood, trauma but also love and humanness. The only reason I won't write more is that I don't want to spoil any of it. It's amazing, go for it!

Best book I've read in a long time

Hollywood, Ending is, simply put, a brilliant piece of literature and represents a noticeable Change in the all around brilliant ensemble of novels by John Green, as he shifts from Young Adult to Adult Fiction.

This is both visible in the style and Simplicity (or lack there of) as well as shift towards more mature and Adult Films (seriously this book is not for <16 year olds)

I feel compelled to write this small review (which i usually don’t) because i found its characters relatable beyond what I usually feel when reading Johns Books, even though Juniper and Kai are magnitudes of wealth above me.

I have nothing worthy of note to critique, 10/10 and an unreserved recommendation from me.

Hollywood Ending is brillant and relatable Story.

John Green did it again. Somehow, he manages to take a story about Hollywood, fame, obsession, and the wonderfully messy human condition and make it feel both incredibly smart and completely irresistible.
I loved this book. It’s thought-provoking without ever feeling heavy, funny in all the right places, and surprisingly moving. And the Andy Warhol part? I absolutely loved it—such a fascinating touch!

The narrators were fantastic and made the whole story even more enjoyable. I laughed, I got emotional, and I kept finding excuses to listen because I just wanted to know what happened next.

Smart, entertaining, a little strange, and very human. Definitely get this book. You won’t regret it.
