Something wildly irresistible. Even if his wicked smile and needful gaze could just be a ploy to win her trust and escape his cell. She shouldn't think of him like that. He is an alien after all. And possibly their enemy.

Xerus claims he is on a mission. A mission to destroy. And he cannot afford to fail. If he dares let Lana get close, dares open his cold heart to her, she could compromise everything.

Eine interessante Story und ich finde es gut, dass die Aliens nicht vermenschlicht wurden. Die Liebesgeschichte nicht an erster Stelle aber dennoch nicht zu kurz. Mir hat's gefallen.

Überraschend gut

At first, I was worried that the book, like so many others in the genre, would be too fast-paced and have an unrealistic (romantic) timeline. But this book pleasantly surprised me. The plot is interesting and well-balanced, and I find the book unique, just like the characters. The only thing I would have liked is to get a bit more of his perspective as well. It wouldn't make sense at the beginning, but when they're finally together, it does.

I was surprised

This would honestly be a great alien horror film. The romance seemed rather shoehorned in rather than meaningful or satisfying. Warning: if you're an anthropologist or sociologist, the heroine will annoy the shit out of you, but if the fact that she's a therapist who's supposed to learn about alien cultures (and does it very poorly) doesn't bother you, then you might not mind her. I personally found her a bit weak and whiny for my taste, but she was very realistic and not exceptional in anyway, which is also refreshing. The MMC was interesting but we didn't get to know him well enough, IMO.

The ending felt rushed, but otherwise it was a solid story.

Solid Alien Horror, mid on the romance

Took one star because the end felt a bit rushed, and because I felt something was missing in their bond/connection.
Other than that, the plot and characters are interesting and the narrator does a great job impersonating the different characters.

Interesting plot

Not just an alien romance. A slow start but otherwise action packed plot with romance near the end.
