I liked the story so far, but it feels like I missed the point somewhere. I like the lead character, but so far it all feels like an introduction without real direction where this will go. Some aspects had me smirking, mostly because I made some similar decisions in my youth, but I don’t know what to expect now. And I’m undecided if I want to know, if I’m being honest. It’s still a solid first book and I enjoyed it.

The Story is interesting but moves very slowly. This book does only describes the relationship with her family up to the end of her basic training in the army. there is no explanation for her special ability or what exactly they entail. aside from her own brief experiences throughout the story.
I find this very frustrating. for me it feels like someone took the beginning of one book and lengthened it in order to stretch into several books. so I gave it 3 instead of 4 stars.
I couldn't stop listening to the story and will buy the next book after I finished this review. I hope this one will bring explanations - or I will produce green sparks.
