WINNER OF THE HUGO AWARD FOR BEST ALL-TIME SERIES

The Foundation series is Isaac Asimov’s iconic masterpiece. Unfolding against the backdrop of a crumbling Galactic Empire, the story of Hari Seldon’s two Foundations is a lasting testament to an extraordinary imagination, one that shaped science fiction as we know it today.

The Galactic Empire has prospered for twelve thousand years. Nobody suspects that the heart of the thriving Empire is rotten, until psychohistorian Hari Seldon uses his new science to foresee its terrible fate.

Exiled to the desolate planet Terminus, Seldon establishes a colony of the greatest minds in the Empire, a Foundation which holds the key to changing the fate of the galaxy.

However, the death throes of the Empire breed hostile new enemies, and the young Foundation’s fate will be threatened first.

Very enjoyable. I Like Asimov's narrative very much. It is dated and certainly not as action packed as modern audiences are used to, but the idea of reasoning and knowledge triumphing over brute force appeals to me a great deal. There is a lot that could be said about the purely male main characters but I think, as is so often the case
with classical works, that the Foundation Trilogy has to be seen in the context of it's own time . There is a reason though it has become a classic.
The audiobooks narrator took some getting used to on my part since I prefer british narrators over american ones but He did a good job.
All in all a good experience.

a fun romp

As a background to the Apple TV series, this was insightful! I was very interested where the steroid came from and what happens in it. I was however surprised at how boring it is superficially. When you fully pay attention there is a life worth of knowledge in this book to be adapted as your current time line occurs.. when listening/reading keep in mind it was originally writing in 1945!!

Very happy I got to experience this. As not all things need to be a traditional from of exciting.. sometimes deeply intellectual and conceptual is however just that.

Worth it! Watch if into ANY FORM of Sci-fi
