An investigation into the dark side of medical research continues when a copycat killer strikes the town of Marion, reopening old wounds as those impacted by the year-old medical murders search for closure.
Paramedic Anneliese Ashmore wants nothing more than to move on - past her sister's death and the turbulence of her budding relationship with Dr. Jared Monroe - toward normalcy, acceptance, and maybe even marriage.
But nothing is ever that easy.
When two corpses connected to her sister's murder surface, their familiar manner of death begs the question whether the deaths are the wrapping up of unfinished business or an act of revenge.
After a third victim goes missing, police are under pressure to secure a suspect.
Both Ana and Jared have motive and opportunity, but do they have the inclination? A trail of evidence leads Sergeant Mike Richardson to struggle between duty and loyalty as he investigates the case with the help of Dr. Kimberly Taylor. While Mike doesn't believe either Ana or Jared might be the killer, he must uncover who is because someone close to them has fatal intentions.
