The face of evil. And the face of greed....

The video showed a nearly naked man bloodied and beaten. Even as archaeologist and TV presenter Annja Creed watched, the clock on his suicide vest ticked down, and precious seconds were lost. But this was no stranger. Garin was her friend. Their fates had been bound by the secrets of Joan of Arc's sword. And Annja had less than 24 hours to save his life....

The price for Garin's life was the lost mask of Torquemada, rumored to have been cast by the Grand Inquisitor himself, 500 years ago during the Spanish Inquisition. Abandoned crypts, lost palaces and a cruel and ancient brotherhood: All clues to the mask's complicated and deadly mystery that Annja, and her mentor, Roux — using all of their considerable resources and cunning — must solve before Garin runs out of time.

Annja Creed is facing her greatest trial. And not even the holy sword of Joan of Arc can spare her from the final judgment.

Performed by Nanette Savard, Colleen Delany, Richard Rohan, Terence Aselford, Steven Carpenter, Andy Brownstein, David Jourdan, Eric Messner, Bradley Smith, Scott McCormick, Michael John Casey, Dylan Lynch, Elizabeth Jernigan, Lily Beacon, Dani Stoller, Kimberly Gilbert.

There is every reason to chop Garins head of, but no not this time, not any time.
That's what this series is about. Everyone is stuck in his/her ways and Garin can rob, betray and murder and Anja will allways let him of the hook.
Don't now how often I wished all three of them go to hell.
So why did I continue to hear this series? Because every now and then there is an episode that is just an indiana Jones like adventure without too much dumb idiocracy in it. But everytime Garin and/or Roo get involved it's brain cell killing nonsense.

Just plain awfull
