Der Krimi geht in Ordnung, solide, wenn auch insgesamt eher belanglos .
Leider sehr langweilig gelesen, mit monotoner, gleichbleibender Stimmführung und teilweise irreführenden Betonungen. Da tröstet auch der angenehme, etwas rauhe Bariton nicht darüber hinweg. Schade, denn Bücher gewinnen doch nochmal sehr, wenn ein guter Schauspieler wie z. B. Richard Armitage die Charaktere mit perfektem Timing und nuancenreichen Eigenheiten zum Leben erweckt.

Not brilliant, but there is definitively a lot of potential. There is a lot missing for a really good book, but it is not a bad read as such. I have read almost all of the Karen Hart books and there is a lot of great development in Butler’s writing style and ability to sketch out credible characters with a lot of depth. Very well read by Rupert Bush.

Die Aneinanderreihung kurzer Hauptsätze, das Fehlen jeglicher Entwicklung der Charaktere, kein Hintergrund der Personen, kein Spannungsaufbau könnte von einem Grundschulkind erzählt worden sein. Nein, dieses hätte besser erzählen können!
