Learn about the lives and careers of all thirty-seven Captains of the RMS Queen Mary, and what it took for them to reach the highest maritime position, achieving command of what was the largest ship in the world when constructed.
Starting out as young boys on sailing ships, gaining qualifications and experience, Naval service during wartime, and spending decades progressing through the ranks on steamships, these men are the exception that made it to the pinnacle of their careers.
After years of research, reviewing thousands of documents and working closely with many of the Captain's relatives, this book is a collection of biographical information that profiles the Master Mariners who spent their working life at sea and rose to command the RMS Queen Mary.
