Unique , world building is great, magic system is off the charts awesome and crazy cool.
I personally read in tandem with the audio book which made the whole world feel more alive. Peter Kenny's different voices and tones added a new layer to the world which made these characters and moments feel more alive and emotional. I am looking forward to continuing experiencing this amazing and magical world Michael Miller has created.

This book took a lot of parts of fantasy writing that I love and the first two thirds of the book made me think that I had a new favorite series at hand.
Unfortunately for me that changed after 12 hours into the story when the author decided to introduce a split pov between our main character and the supporting character. I just can't stand when a story is split in multiple plotlines (which in this book are quite minor but still there after the 12 hours) it just pulls me out of the story and I almost quit the book then and there.
The worst part is that this split happened when the book sets up a really emotional development and completely brought me out of it.
For everyone who is ok with minor multiple pov switches I recommend listening to this book the story is still really good.
For me I don't think I will continue the series as I fear that, like every other epic fantasy that I quit because of it the multiple plotlines, they get more and more introduced as the story goes on so I probably won't risk getting frustrated by it.
