College is on hold, and Trorm's interning for the local police. It's a good experience, until he learns his friend, the half-elf bard Tibs Jones, is missing.
Trorm is ready to embark on a quest to save his friend, but there are a few obstacles in his path, such as the insane cleric whose consciousness is periodically taking over Trisha, the mother of his host family. She's volatile, crazy, and dangerous. And the people he's been trying the hardest to protect from her might not be worth protecting.
Abigail has videos of Trorm that could cost him his scholarship if they got out, and she got them from his ex-girlfriend. It's a perfect storm of rage and confusion accompanying Trorm on his mission to rescue his friend.
Fortunately, he might just have a new and powerful ally in the mysterious and alluring naga Israxa Rana.
