SHE TRIED TO FIX HIM. SHE MADE HIM WORSE.

All Hail Chaos is Sarah Rees Brennan's wicked, clever sequel to the No. 1 Sunday Times bestselling Long Live Evil ('delicious, subversive' Leigh Bardugo).

Rae is a fantasy reader who's been transported to her favourite fictional world of swords and sorcery, castles and monsters. Playing the villainess, she thought she could change the narrative, but this version of the plot is far more deadly than the one she knew.

Her friends are on the run: the Cobra shelters in an eerie manor haunted by dark secrets, while Emer and Lia stoke a revolution in the gutters. Undead armies roam the kingdom, raiders camp at the city gates, and the all-powerful Emperor - Rae's favourite character ever, now possibly the greatest monster in the land - wants her to be his evil queen.

Romantic in fiction, complicated in reality. What's a villainess to do? Time for wicked bargains and fake engagements, in a fantasy where the most dangerous thing you can do is believe in someone.

Opinie krytyków

Audacious, and supremely satisfying, Long Live Evil is the chosen one we've been waiting for. It succeeds as both a brilliant meditation on the pleasures and perils of fiction, and a sweeping, romantic adventure in its own right. Get ready to laugh out loud, cry in public, and cheer on the villains as Brennan smashes through tropes with witty, wild glee in this delicious, subversive treat of a book (Leigh Bardugo, New York Times bestselling author of NINTH HOUSE)
Brennan's brilliant Long Live Evil harnesses clever banter, delightful turns of phrase, and epic backdrops in the service of exploring the nature of stories and the freedom that comes with embracing being named a villain - and maybe actually becoming one. Most of all, it introduces us to Rae, who uses her quick-thinking, loyalty, and ferocity to sidestep (and do the occasional musical number around) doom
Utterly brilliant. I can't stop thinking about Long Live Evil, which has rocketed to the top of my list of all time favourite fantasy novels. Pick this up immediately, Brennan will take everything you think you know about fantasy and turn it on its head (C.S. Pacat, New York Times bestselling author of DARK RISE and CAPTIVE PRINCE)
The richness of the story provides multiple entry points for fans of fantasy and adventure, with a terrific fantasy tale and the meta layer of Rae's story. The series is catnip for genre readers (Booklist, starred review)

unfortunately feels like a filler between books - a lot of setup and the twist were not "twisting" - lets hope book 3 makes up for it

all hail sequels?

I loved the first one & was so much looking forward to this. I don't know why the author & publisher thought this was a good idea, regurgitating the previous book and spitting it out together with info dumps. Why adding so many boring POVs? Absolutely ruined the whole series.
I usually love this narrator's voice, but even she couldn't make it good.

disappointing
