Very enjoyable book, good crime story where a lot turns out to be different than it seems. Hilarious scenes between Maeve and Derwent, not sure every man will be into this, but from a female perspective completely spot on and very funny at times. All in all, great book and, as always, greatly read by Caroline Lennon, she lives and breathes Maeve.

5 stars for the book and presentation

Another amazing book, this time with more focus on Maeve and Josh.
Jane Casey understands emotions and has a unique way of phrasing them, and Caroline Lennon expresses them in her own style
This makes for fabulous books.

brilliant once again

I really really like Maeve as a character. And the character descriptions in general. And the way to tell stories. But it has been a LOT of drama, her being nearly killed in about every case? And the Josh story is drawn out t e r r i b l y, sorry to say. Very very far from reality. And are we supposed to expect the worst now? Please, let her have some love and peace finally, before she sinks into depression (as any sane person would, considering the tons of drama and 'one step forward, two steps back'). Readers don't need that much drama and twists and turns to like a series- or do they?. Half of it would be just about perfect - but that is just my personal opinion. But if the next book reveals what one might fear or something similar, it'll be the last twist for me to be able to want to know more, sorry. 'Oh, come on' shouldn't come to mind too often... I really think Jane Casey is a great author and it may sound harsh when it is in reality just regarding one or two aspects of something great.

Too much drama?
