Enemies become lovers in this action-packed installment of the Married to Magic novels—swoonworthy, escapist standalone reads that combine wondrous fantasy worlds with slow-burn romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Arcana Academy
On the night of the blood moon, the Vampire Lord must die. As the forge maiden of Hunter’s Hamlet, Floriane knows three things for certain:
One, she must craft the weapons and armor that the vampire hunters use. Two, she must keep the fact that her beloved brother, one such hunter, trains her in secret. And, three, that the Master Hunter will be the one to decide her future.
But, when her brother is attacked on the night of the Blood Moon by the Vampire Lord himself, Floriane is forced to join the fray.
Wanting to defend her home at all costs, Floriane fights the vampire lord, ready to give her life if it means taking his. But Ruvan doesn’t want to take her life . . . he wants her.
Kidnapped and brought to the vampire castle, Floriane is now blood sworn to the vampire lord—bound in mind and body to her worst enemy.
As the Vampire Lord’s captive, Floriane expected to fight. She didn't expect the battle to be with herself as she questions everything she thought she knew about her world, her purpose, and her desires.
Because when Floriane’s dagger is at Ruvan’s chest, will she be able to take the heart of the man who has claimed hers?
Includes a bonus scene, “Tower of Stars,” from Ruvan’s point of view

Even though in between it was a bit long and the end quite short. But all in all I was hooked by it and can recommend it !
Lovely story

Floriane is a stubborn young woman and "will hammer at something until it bends to her will". Her coming to terms with being abducted by the vampire lord was a very unique journey. She can't stay away from the forge and smithing as it is her home, but she also pokes at mysteries where she stumples into them.
The world building is marvelous and I enjoyed every minute. Even feared for the lovely side characters numerous times, because they give the story so much color.
I would wish for a gender swapped version of the Married-to-Magic novels to come, but we will see and I will listen anyways.
The narrator is very skilled and made a great experience of the book to listen too.
Amazing!

Which is not to say that the book is bad. If I didn't know the other two, I would probably give it 5/5.
By the way, you do not have to have read/heard the other two to listen to this book!
Unfortunately, there are a few more questions left unanswered in this volume and it just doesn't feel as coherent as the other two.
Nevertheless, I will continue to follow Elise Kova and look forward to the next book!
The two others were better
