Making promises to anybody else is completely out of the question - but then, Mikhail has never met anybody like Shane. Earnest, brave, and self-deprecating, Shane seems to speak Mikhail's language, and no one is more surprised than Mikhail to find that keeping promises is Shane's best talent of all.

Die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Shane und Mikael ist ohne Frage zauberhaft, die Annäherung sorgt für Schmetterlinge im Bauch. Beide MCs sind einzigartig und trotz Lebenserfahrungen erstaunlich "rein" - nicht im körperlichen oder kitschigem Sinn. Shane glaubt trotz Verrat noch an Liebe. Mikhail ist will nicht daran glauben, weil er sich selbst nicht für liebenswert hält. Neben den Rückblenden in beider Leben und den damit verbundenen Problemen sorgen die Nebengeschichten über Shanes Schwester und Mikaels Mutter dafür, dass das Buch nicht schnulzig wird. Es schadet auch überhaupt nicht, dass Crick, Deacon, Jeff und Benny wieder mit dabei sind.
Auf jeden Fall sollte voher "Keeping Promise Rock" gelesen/gehört werden.
Amy Lane ist auf jeden Fall mein persönlicher "Autoren-Geheimtipp".
Paul Morey ist ein fantastischer Erzähler, der allen Charakteren eine eigene Persönlichkeit gibt.
