Maybe Maulkin has taken a month off to hang out with his new elven girlfriend and learn how to swing his giant sword around, but hasn't he earned a holiday?
His reluctance to get out there and smack monsters definitely has nothing to do with the evil looking Voidgod powers that he's scared of telling the others about.... Or with Araphel's imminent return.... Or with having to fight a primordial dragon from the dawn of time....

The MC is so overpowerd that a person with an below average intelligence whould make about 90% of the story TRIVIAL. But the author tries to keep it "interesting" with the stupidity of the MC but to me all he managed was the absolute bewilderment how someone cant string together 2 sentences or forgets half his godlike powers like every 5 minutes. The MC comes across as if he likes to get stronger and get new powers.. then everytime he could use those godlike powers he runs in and hits stuff hard....
The other characters are not a single ounce better.
The "good friend" archer hates him because he is now EVIL for killing an absolute shitbag in self defennce( something she did already hundrets of times but the MC is to dumb to point out that she is the biggest hypocrite i have ever seen).
The "good friend" mage should have access to the same Godlike powers like the other two but he is so unbelivebly useless that it issnt even funny anymore.
This is the first time i hear this narrator and i am honestly very happy about him. He did everything in his power to get through this abomination of a story... but you can only do so much..
