A magnificent mix of satire, sci-fi, horror and drama. As if Monty Python, Stanley Kubrick, the Coen Bros. and Spielberg had a no holds barred love child. Springfield has created an unflinching portrait of our times, hitting every note like a true maestro, undressing mankind‘s failings and grace with earthshattering drama and comedy, burning the holy cows of pretensions with gleeful joy while making us care and sympathetic to everyone. It truly is a book that should have been the mega blockbuster its dimensions call for, and it’s an all encompassing marvel that it achieves every goal it set itself artistically. This is the kind of dystopian nightmare one can not stop to fear and enjoy at the same time, making us think about life, people, religion and our own utter ridiculous attitudes towards everything. Hopefully, there will be a next chapter in this saga.
