The 2024 U.S. presidential election highlights the deep divide in the political parties as a facet of the struggle for world power. The political polarization and the ambitions of other world powers keep the globe on high alert as the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East grip the nations involved and their allies.
This is the story of the major candidates for the nation's highest offices and their intraparty squabbles. World events involving Israel, Russia, China, Iran and North Korea command attention in the U.S. and force decisions regarding military deployment. The use of artificial intelligence, spies and terrorists combines to complicate the blueprints for world dominance by the various world powers. The use of the 25th Amendment as a political tool in the tightly contested election follows a shocking outcome of the Electoral College. But another decisive event brings down the curtain on the year.
