Inhaltsangabe

Low-life writer and unrepentant alcoholic Henry Chinaski was born to survive. After decades of slacking off at low-paying dead-end jobs, blowing his cash on booze and women, and scrimping by in flea-bitten apartments, Chinaski sees his poetic star rising at last. Now, at 50, he is reveling in his sudden rock-star life, running 300 hangovers a year, and maintaining a sex life that would cripple Casanova.

With all of Bukowski's trademark humor and gritty, dark honesty, this 1978 follow-up to Post Office and Factotum is an uncompromising account of life on the edge.

The good ol' Bukovski...

...a wonderful story about being constantly wasted, that takes you back to the good ol' days when being young and getting laid was enough; only he's like 50 years old, suggesting that you just might, maybe, get lucky again. Not the best book for a feninest, I imagine. But who cared about feminism in the good ol' days!
The speaker is all right and you get used to him quite quickly.
