Great book about Chinese history for the last 100 years. The lives of 3 women are described in the book but meant is the suffering of all the Chinese people in that time, especially of the Chines women. Unbelievable that China has still Mao printed on their banknotes. My future visits to China will let me make more sensible. Thank you for this great story.

I listened to Wild Swans during my recovery periods after a few major surgeries and this book is a 100/10 recommendation to friends and acquaintances. The experience was a mix of many emotions, especially the retelling of Jung’s grandma’s and her mother’s stories. They were heartbreaking but also ultimately inspiring. I’ve not know much about the history of pre-communist and communist China, and this book is a masterpiece showcasing the society’s varying context throughout the 20th century China. For one, we were taught in school about foot binding in our world history, but never was it this in-depth and impactful like Jung’s work.

I’ve already bought “Fly, Wild Swans” and “Mao” for my next listens!
