I tried to ignore the cringy cover (seriously, the guy on the cover looks like he's twelve) and give the book a chance. The story ist very average, but all in all enjoyable. The audio quality is just awful - it sounds like it was recorded on an old phone. The reader is doing a good job though.
I probably won't read another book from the series.

Bin jetzt quasi mit allen Büchern dieser Schriftstellerin durch. Und finde jede neue Geschichte gut geschrieben. Es ist einfach schön, sie zu lesen. Etwas Fantasie und etwas Liebe, immer starke Frauen und spannend.
Hier geht es um Feen. Nicht die nette Sorte aus unseren Märchen. Nein. Hier sind die Feen die Bösen. Sehr viel mehr möchte ich nicht verraten. Ausser vielleicht noch, dass ich die Sprecherin sehr gut fand. Ich habe auch als nicht Muttersprachlerin alles einwandfrei verstehen können. Kein "Genuschel".

I gave it a try because of all the good reviews.
The reader is okay, her speed is pretty good. However I think the recording equipment is a bit old, sounds a bit off sometimes.

The rest:
I can handle it when the main character has a crush on someone and you slowly see sparks between the two. Or also from the beginning. However a little more tastefully described.

Here, the protagonist drools immediately when the guy with the emerald eyes (you’ll hear this phrase a lot) is in the room and also does not get a grip at all when he’s around. Although the author portrays the female protagonist as rather tough and cool. I can’t identify with her at all, her way of thinking and character writing is meh.

And oh dear this main guy screams narcissistic all over his face.
Not charming….Not at all.

My favorite character in this book is Tink, the only character (so far) who is written properly and acts according to his character.

Mal wieder hat die Schriftstellerin gute Arbeit geleistet. Interessante Story und sehr gut gelesen. Hier sind die Feen Mal nicht so nett...

Armentroud enttäuscht nicht

After listening to a lot of Jennifer armentrouts books I was on the hunt for more of her writing. I was very hesitant of getting this one, due to its cover (in my opinion it looks like a too cheesy badly written book, someone should change it into something like on the blood and ash series cover) but luckily the cover doesn’t do the book justice and is just as good as the other series I so far heard of her. I like the story and the characters it has a good pace, action love betrayal fantasy everything I like in a book! I liked the narrator for most of turn book, just didn’t like how she makes ren sound he sounds like he’s stupid the way she changes her voice to speak his dialogues but all the other characters are very well spoken. I’ll purchase the next one in this series now.

Ich konnte es nicht zu Ende hören.... nette Idee, sehr flach umgesetzt.
Die weibliche Hauptcharaktere wirkt wie eine trotzige Zwölfjahrige, die eine Erwachsene spielen will. Noch eine Briese Drama in der Vergangenheit und sie ist natürlich total tough...
Wirkt alles sehr aufgesetzt, die Figur hat keine Substanz.
Keiner der Nebencharakteren wird mit mehr als zwei Wörtern beschrieben - wohin gegen (nur!) die körperlichen Attribute der männlichen Hauptfigur ausführlich und wiederholt beschrieben werden.
Insgesamt wirkt es, als hätte die Autorin alle Elemente von ähnlichen, erfolgreichen Romanen in einen Topf geworfen und umgerührt....
Es fehlt leider der Tiefgang und die Glaubwürdigkeit.
