A new perspective, very insightful
As a parent of very young kids, I am not directly affected by the trans issue but it is becoming something to consider when choosing a school, and there is always a chance it comes up among family or friends.
Other works on the topic that I know focus on characterizing the phenomenon and telling individual stories and will give you a lot of facts, whereas this book is all about how best to handle the situation and yourself if your kid comes out a trans. This is a wholly new dimension and a very helpful perspective for me.
I find the recommendations very empathetic and well thought-out, often quite counter-intuitive and clearly drawing on a lot of practical experience with the problems described.
