This book is dedicated to you, the listener, since everyone has been discriminated or hated against at least once in their life. The poems work directly with the included curriculum to allow self-directed learning, reading and writing comprehension, respect and acceptance, positive social aptitudes, and practical life lessons. Kids, teens, and everyone else should all absorb the meaning behind the poems of this book and understand the words.
Don’t just listen to these words; interpret them. Don’t just hear each other as you discuss these poems; listen to the words and emotions behind them. I hope What I Wish I Was Told inspires, entertains, and acts as a strong and supportive mortar to the brick walls of your family’s values and the more important things in life we need to appreciate: our earth and each other. Join me on this timely journey into the world of the vaccine to hate and racism and more.
