Über diesen Titel
Will an innocent prince forced into marriage choose passion?
Sheltered in the palace with his books, Jem’s life is peaceful. Even if he’s lonely and yearning for romance, the big, strong men he wants don’t crave small, timid princes.
Then he’s forced to marry a mysterious barbarian.
Jem must do his duty—even if it means being stuck with Cador, a brute who dismisses him as weak. Even if it means a fake marriage in name only for the sake of their homelands. Even if he must leave behind everything and everyone to journey to a forbidding island of ice and stone.
Even if there’s only one bed.
Alone with this wild—yet tender?—man, Jem discovers desire that burns hotter than he ever imagined. Can two strangers learn to trust, or will dangerous lies tear them apart?
Wed to the Barbarian by Keira Andrews is a gay romance fantasy featuring enemies to lovers, an age gap, forced proximity, first times, and of course a happy ending (eventually). This is the first action-adventure romance in the Barbarian Duet and must be read before The Barbarian’s Vow.
©2021 Keira Andrews (P)2025 KA BooksNarration was really really good and the dialect of the barbarians on point.
Once the spice starts it is amazingly written and plenty. An absolut recommendation.
But to be honest: the cover image doesn't represent the main characters very good.
So don't judge the book by its cover :D
Sweet, spicy and thrillin. Now I want an barbarian

The charakters actually do have a developement and the plot is interesting enough although rather predictable.
Really bad is the Set up. The stronger, older and more experienced character leaves no Chance out to torture his unwilling 'husband' wuth cruel remarcs and jokes, lacks all humanity and empathy at least in actions and is all in all such a dumb a**hole thar my opinon of him never recovered throughout the whole series. The Protests of the younger character who is basically sold off for political purposes like a piece of meat and who is constantly threatened with violence and rape, is treated like 'childish' behavior as if it was completely normal to expect someone to soll their body and wellbeing for political favours for their parents.
but of course then the, actually do fall in love and of course eventually in the end there will be a happy and where this forces marriage actually changes all the kingdoms for the better. So basically Andrews is under the opinon that rape culture and forced marriages lead to good things - great job! i would really like to know why especially wemon write shit like this and try to sell it as romantic or sexy? It’s not! It’s bullying, apathy, dehumanisation, forced marriage and rape.
please for the love of god or whatever it is you pray to, have better message than this, you write so well, why this book?
Celebration of rape culture, that get better towards the end
