In the aftermath of a brutal attack that shattered my world while I was diligently working at the hospital, I experienced a moment of pure hell, leaving me unconscious and my life in disarray. What followed was a highly profiled case that captured the nation’s attention, sparking community outcry, media interest, and nationwide demonstrations organized by CFNU (Canadian Federation of Nurses Union) and other impactful organizations.
As I stand at this critical crossroads, paralyzed by the fear of the unknown, my journey in pursuit of justice unfolds—a journey marked by courage, perseverance, and an unmatched dedication to reclaiming my sense of wholeness. This is more than a story; it’s a revelation of the pervasive issue of workplace violence, shedding light on its profound impact. In sharing my journey, struggles, thoughts, and dreams, I aim to ignite a conversation that transcends the silence surrounding workplace violence. This book is a message of hope—a testament to the strength within each of us to overcome adversity. By writing and releasing my story on my own terms, I hope to provide solace, inspiration, and a call to action for change. Much love, peace, and courage to all.
