This crime series is very lovely. The story is good to follow and in my imagination I can see the figures in Oxford or the Tearoom. Pearl Hewitt's voice fits all very good and is good to understand for me as foreigner.

I‘ve got hooked on the stories (Oxford Tearoom Mysteries, BUT the main character … OMG! Meek, babbling, breathless, squeaking, afraid of her own shadow and nearly everything else, acting as a 13 year old unsure of herself, petulant, when she doesn’t get her way, overreacting, etc. I am sure she had been working as a doormat in Down Under. And the breathless speaker makes things worse. Such a shame, see above: story is nice!
