Beautifully read by Jasper Britton. It's wonderful how we can hear all the characters with their emotions through his voice. As Jim Hawkins, he tells the story in a somewhat smoky tone, the way it should be told. AYE! But my favorite part is Jasper Britton's portrayal of the sly and cunning Long John Silver in all his duplicity.

"Treasure Island" stand schon lange auf meiner Liste der zu lesenden (hörenden) Bücher und nun hab ichs endlich geschafft. Es war klar, dass ich das Buch im Original kennenlernen will und bei der Auswahl dieses Hörbuches habe ich eine gute Wahl getroffen.
Der Sprecher arbeitet großartig. Es ist wirklich so, dass jeder Charakter bei ihm eine eigene Nuance erhält und somit sofort erkenntlich ist. Man gewinnt den Eindruck, dass mehrere Sprecher am Vortrag beteiligt sind und das fand ich großartig.
Das Buch ist klar ein Abenteuerroman - nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Es ist weniger ausgeklügelt als ich mir das erwartet habe und ich frage mich, ob es mir nicht als Kind/Teenager besser gefallen hätte.
Mit Long John Silver wurde ein wahrhaft diabolischer Bösewicht in die literarische Welt entlassen, der es weit über das Buch hinaus in die Populärkultur geschafft hat.
Alles in allem eine erfreuliche, wenig überraschende Erfahrung.
