Elli Inks has never ridden her father’s train. But, now, just before her 10th birthday, Elli is going to take a trip.

But this is no ordinary trip. Joined by the exuberant Mitchkowski Lowery, the duo are magically drawn into the mysterious world of Alascone - a place where lightning storms are good Farnog; Catarats steal socks; and the day only ends when you fall asleep.

Desperate to find their way back to the train, the two meet Boqi, a whimsical gardener - although he insists "it’s not my garden" - who agrees to guide them to Junction Sixteen-O-Nine, the way out.

As the journey unfolds, events disclose Elli’s troubled past while the uncertain futures of worlds collide. Train to Alascone dives into the depths of friendship and flies to the heights of hope.
