Die Entwicklung der Beziehung zwischen den Protagonisten fand ich gut und stimmig und die beiden recht sympathisch (Ihn mehr als sie, aber die Männer sind in dieser Reihe alle etwas netter als ihre vorwitzigen Frauen- da fand ich die nicht ganz so selbstbewusste Jane vergleichsweise angenehm). Gut ist auch, dass die Charaktere nicht so sehr bräsig wie in vielen anderen Romanen, die in dieser Zeit spielen, sind und hier auch nicht allzu viel aneinander vorbeigeredet wird. Die Story selbst ist solide, aber nicht besonders aufregend, daher einen Stern Abzug. Dass alles vorhersehbar ist, ist in diesem Genre gewollt und würde wohl eher enttäuschen, wenn es nicht so wäre. Liebesszenen halten sich im Rahmen, Erotik ist in dem Maß ok - ich brauch sie persönlich gar nicht, aber in den meisten Büchern ist sie noch nehr vertreten. Unter den Buchreihen - die m.e. insgesamt, zumindest aber vereinzelt häufig nicht so gut sind - eine der besten. Freue mich auf Band 5. Eine gute, seichte Unterhaltung, bei der man sich gut fühlt. Weibliche Sprecherin ist gut, den männlichen Part find ich mäßig, aber nicht tragisch (bin aber auch kein Muttersprachler).
