Über diesen Titel

Get in. Get out. Don't Fall in Love.

Enter the brutal world of Endlock, a prison where the wealthy hunt the inmates for sport.

In the city of Dividium, the law is simple: commit a crime, and your punishment is a life sentence in Endlock.

Raven Thorne is Dividium’s most notorious bounty hunter, living on the edge of society. But when her younger brother, Jed, is sentenced to Endlock, Raven will do anything to save him—even if it means getting herself arrested.

Now trapped in a prison where danger lurks around every corner, Raven must use all her cunning and strength to protect Jed—and herself if she is to complete her perilous mission. But there’s one obstacle she never expected: the prison guard who stirs something deep inside her. The man she should hate. The man whose true motives seem impossible to pin down.

In a world where trust is a weapon and love is a liability, Raven must decide if she will risk everything to tear down a vicious system.

To Cage a Wild Bird is a dystopian romance perfect for readers of Divergent, Prison Break, forced proximity, and a fast-paced plot that will keep you turning the pages.

To cage a wild bird was amazing, here's why:

The Setting:
I probably don't have to say much about it, cause I think most people pick this book up because of how interesting and creepy the idea of Endlock is. So I'll keep this short and tell you that it's even cooler on page. The creepy guards, the strict rules, the everpresent (?) cameras and of course the hunters would have probably kept me listening even if the story had only been half as good as it actually is.

The Story:
What really impressed me was that nothing came "easy" to the characters - meaning there was no plot armor and they had to earn their wins. On the other hand, Brooke Fast also didn't kill off characters too easily just because ~drama~. Everything that helped or threatened the main team was properly explained beforehand and nothing came out of thin air, which makes the story really satisfying to listen to.

The Characters:
Really fell in love with those. Raven is relatable yet extremely cool and the others were just as beautifully written.

The Romance:
I wanted to put this here because the enemies to lovers trope sometimes goes in the direction of: "He's an asshole and gets the girl for the sole reason that he's also hot."
NOT the case in this book. Raven and Vale are enemies only because of their positions in society. Other than that he's a good person and that made the romance-subplot really engaging to read.

I think I have a new fav book
