I listened to 'Tis along with old friends of McCourt's from the place in Greenwich Village they would haunt. They attest that 'Tis captures the understated if knowing verve of the writer they saw their friend become. I myself found joy in hearing McCourt give voice to his students in Staten Island; how they unfurled the importance of the lost writings of their long gone relatives and discovered excitement in literature from Shakespeare to Salinger is testament to this man's own struggle and passionate journey. A fine story, but it would be a even better book if Frank would stop complaining about anything.

A bit too much

Ich habe das Buch vorher schon gelesen, aber das Hörbuch ist - gesprochen vom Autor selbst - noch viel viel besser. Keine Minute langweilig, sehr zu emfpehlen! Love the Irish brogue! :-)
