I have a hard time liking fiction, but this was great! The narrator did a wonderful job, which became more and more obvious to me the more characters joined that he made feel distinct by the way he performed their voices. The story is very entertaining and the author has endeared himself to me by showing that he understands a thing or two about the human condition, even from the viewpoint of different genders, which is something often lacking from male fantasy authors. I was worried about that at first, but later he really earned my trust not to be an idiot about sensitive matters, speaking with respect and understanding instead. Can't wait to listen to the second book!
