Ein brilliantes Werk von Lisa Jewell. Die Geschichte lässt einen nicht los, bis zur letzten Minute. Ab einem Punkt kann man erahnen welches Verbrechen sind tatsächlich abgespielt hat, aber es bleibt dennoch so spannend, dass man die Auflösung hören möchte. Es ist brutal und traurig. Wirklich gelungener Krimi!!

Die Sprecherin hat das Werk sehr gut gelesen. Gutes Tempo, klar und deutlich, sie hat den irischen Akzent gut gesprochen!

The writing is ok, the story however is very basic. There was nothing that I couldn’t predict from start to end. Disappointing overall. The narration is however great, which kept me going until the end.

Ich hatte mal wieder Lust auf einen Psycho-Thiller und bin den `good-reads`-Empfehlungen gefolgt. Hat sich gelohnt. Das Buch war mein erstes und nicht mein letztes von L.J.
Die Geschichte ist irgendwie schon mal da gewesen und der Klappentext erzählt schon sehr viel. Trotzdem bleibt die Spannung bis zum Schluss und lässt den Hörer aufgewühlt zurück. Die Protagonisten sind individuell gestaltet, deren Gedanken und Handlungen sind hachvollziehbar. Zunächst wird die Geschichte aus der personalen Perspektive erzählt, später kommen die Ich-Erzählperspektiven dazu, wodurch der Hörer mehr weiß, als die einzelnen Personen. Das finde ich für einen Thriller, der Spannung erzeugen soll, etwas kontraproduktiv. Ich hätte es bevorzugt genau so viel zu wissen, wie Laurell. Trotzdem war das Buch doch spannend und mitreißend.
