Probably the sadest audiobook I have ever listened to. The authenticity in this book is unlike any other, you can really believe that this is her story in her words. Britney takes you down the rabbit hole to a place of desperation, betrayal and lonleyness. The book tells the story of how she survived and escaped this dark place with all the odds stacked against her. An emotional rollercoaster. My deepest respect to this exceptional kind, brave and strong women.

Noteworthy is also Michelle Williams who does a terrific job in reading the story, just heartthrobing.

It is an eye-opening audiobook about life challenges and huge inner strength, about ups and downs, about increadible talent to overcome everything, remaining a true artist and just a kind human-beeing. In my conclusion, I would like to add that it's unbelievable how cruel Britney's family was to her. I felt so much sympathy for her, when she was telling about her family members. Unfortunately, we can't choose and can't change our parents, but we still can choose our environment. And I wish everyone who read it to find true friends in their life!!!

Not often do you get to gain an insight into the life of one of the most famous people in the world - and this book definitely did not disappoint!

As a millennial, I grew up with Britney's music and she's been something like a constant in my life. Even though as I grew up my taste in music shifted away from pop music to different genres, whenever her songs got on, they catapulted me back into my childhood and youth - in a good way. So picking up this (audio) book, I wanted to learn more about this person that's had such a big influence on me.

Britney seems to have had a somewhat "regular" childhood with a lot of lust for music and dancing from an early age. You can hear her passion and love of life in those - partially hard but also what seems somewhat happy - first years of her life. What's saddening is to hear how this love for life, trust in people, "primal trust" is slowly fading as the years pass by and those closest to her just basically use her for their benefit. I've teared up through those pages of her search for belonging and love, just to be disappointed again and again - up until the point where her very understandable reactions to life's situations landed her in a conservatorship for 13 (!!!) years.

Probably like most other people, I realized that Britney was stripped of her freedom by her family only when the hashtag #freebritney first emerged - which was pretty much probably 11-12 years into her living with this situation. It literally, even to me as an outsider, felt like finally being able to take a deep breath again when she got rid of her father and a few months later of the whole conservatorship just a while back.

After listening to an absolutely strong woman telling her life story, I really hope she's going to be able to find peace and live her life in a way that feels true to her. Highly recommended book!
