Although there are not many surprises in the book, with her life always being on public display and the free-britney movement having already unveiled her odyssey, it is still heartbreaking and often infuriating listening to her account of events. Excellent choice of narrator too.

Eine sehr ergreifende Story, bei der man sich wünschen würde, dass sie nicht auf wahren Begebenheiten basiert. Wie konnte es so weit kommen? Wie konnte es so lange andauern? Wie kann so etwa in der heutigen Zeit in einem zivilisierten Land passieren? Wie, wie, wie? Einfach unbegreiflich.

Britney gets to tell her story and she does it very nice.

The book is an emotional masterpiece and time capsule of a true story that almost ruined one of the greatest artists who managed to get off the lows against strong forces.

It is a remarkable lesson, not only about media power, family and friends + much more...

How somebody who has everything can be physically and mentally brought to the edge of existence ... and most important, possible a lesson why its worth to have endurance, stamina and optimism beside the will to take necessary action to do what it takes to archive prosperity.


Britney has proven all that and more with her story.

Mit der Geschichte haut Britney ein bisschen in die Selbstmitleids-Promi- Kerbe wie schon z.B. David Beckham oder aktuell Robbie Williams. Sie sei aus ihrer Perspektive ausschließlich Opfer und habe keine Fehler gemacht, bzw. das Umfeld war schuld. Menschen; die ihn unfassbar reich sind und alle möglichen Vorzüge und Privilegien genießen jammern über ihr ach-so schweres Leben und dass sie nur missverstanden werden. Allerdings ist das Hörbuch durchaus unterhaltsam und manche Situationen sind durchaus nachfühlbar, z.B. als man ihr den Kontakt zu ihren Kindern verwehrte und wie wenig Unterstützung sie von ihren Eltern erfuhr. Das ist schon ungeheuerlich. Michelle William liest mit sehr schöner Betonung, so dass das Hören wirklich ein Event ist. Ich empfinde ihre Stimme als sehr angenehm und kann auch gut dabei einschlafen. Das kann ich nicht bei allen Stimmen, ist aber wahrscheinlich auch Geschmacksache. Der Kauf hat sich für mich gelohnt und ich empfehle es weiter.
