not really a whodunit

There is little 'sea detective' investigation for a series called 'sea detective'. The first book was much better. Actually, half of the book is about the psychological trouble of a woman seeking to understand the death of her mother the night she was born. This might be an important issue for the author, but it was boring for me. Moreover, even though the acting people don't know the trues, the reader can easily guess it, except for some details. Only at the end the plot gets thrilling for a while.
