The first three books of The Weirkey Chronicles are combined in this new edition, which includes two never-before-released short stories, new appendices, and complete soulhome diagrams.

Betrayed. Murdered. Reborn. One last chance, to make it right. Theo's adventure ended with his mentor's hands around his neck. The betrayal cost him his friends, allies, and everything he had built...but not his life. Though broken and powerless, Theo has one last chance to enter the Nine Worlds, wielding the knowledge and expertise of his first life. This time, he needs more than just power, he needs to unravel the deception that killed him once...and is coming for him again.

This edition includes:

  • The complete books Soulhome, Rainhorn, and Archcrafter.
  • Two new short stories: One Day at the Gate Between Worlds and Lessons of a Gate Merchant.

By the end of book 3 it became my favourite ongoing series. It just gets better afterward, it has my strongest recommendation.

Amazing Worldbuilding

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.

The nine worlds are all very different and their different culture they feel real.
The cultivation system is unique (building a house with materials spiritually aligned to a specific purpose) and while there is fighting it is not about constantly fighting. Also, I like the main characters.
Well worth a try with three books for one credit.

Amazing worlds and interesting set up

- Story is pretty bland, nothing you have not heard/read before: Man gets killed, gets second chance, comes back and has to rebuild his strength and take vengeance. There are some decisions that are baffling to me though: The MC loses all his friends in an act of betrayal from a third party and then has to work for 40 years to get back to the magic world. All the anger, the emotional weight that these events entail are lost. Its skipped in paragraph. Now our MC is ~60 and should be a VERY different person, but we never see this. The book claims he is a cynical bitte old man, but his body in the magic world is that of a teenager. He never acts with the gravitas these events would have engendered in him, nor does he play the role of the wise old man. It just seems to be the reason why he is willing to steal and lie ... which is a weird choice.

- The magic system (cultivation) is pretty unique. They use (sublime) materials to build a house inside their soul which generates different effects based on design, materials and what is inside of the rooms. Narrativity its a bit probabilistic as there is a lot of time and work dedicated to building walls, adding carvings and decoration. All of this gives the person power but it is boring to listen to, does not give a clear understandable effect has no "wow" moment. Reducing all the work around the process to a simple "get main item, get material" would have made the acquisition and narrativ catharsis a lot stronger.

- Characters are just dull. They barely have anything that makes them stand out.

Just not that good
