Here’s a quote from a review on Goodreads “(…) themes and dialogue (…) too politically correct and contemporary with our times to make this novel a believable work of historical fiction”. Also I think the narrator did a pretty poor job, imho far too monotonous and her voice unpleasantly strident. Apart from that I guess historical fiction is just not a historian’s cup of tea…
