Über diesen Titel

Bestselling author Michael Lewis examines how a Nobel Prize–winning theory of the mind altered our perception of reality.

Forty years ago, Israeli psychologists Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky wrote a series of breathtakingly original studies undoing our assumptions about the decision-making process. Their papers showed the ways in which the human mind erred, systematically, when forced to make judgments about uncertain situations. Their work created the field of behavioral economics, revolutionized Big Data studies, advanced evidence-based medicine, led to a new approach to government regulation, and made much of Michael Lewis’s own work possible. Kahneman and Tversky are more responsible than anybody for the powerful trend to mistrust human intuition and defer to algorithms.

The Undoing Project is about the fascinating collaboration between two men who have the dimensions of great literary figures. They became heroes in the university and on the battlefield―both had important careers in the Israeli military―and their research was deeply linked to their extraordinary life experiences. In the process they may well have changed, for good, mankind’s view of its own mind.

It's a beautiful peek into brilliant minds. And a wonderful compendium to the work of Kahneman and Tversky, and other giants of past and present time.

inspiring, moving, impressive.

I'll keep it short. This book has some major downtime and it's repetitive in a lot of places. I feel like it would have benefited from some major cuts. None the less the subject matter of rational or rather irrational decision making is fascinating, as is the relationship between Daniel Kahneman and Amos Teversky.

Very interesting, but too long

If you liked Kahnemans book Thinking Slow and Fast, then this is a great book to chose. I remember, when I read K.'s book I wondered, why he kept regering so deferentially to this guy Tversky, of whom I knew nothing. But, then again, it was an honest gesture and I liked that he didn't try to take all the credit from a yearlong collaboration. In this book, you learn once more about their central contributions to psychology and economics, and the life stories of both Kahneman and Tversky is more fully fleshed out.

Thinking fast and slow to the Undoing Project

I both laughed and cried while listening to it. And learned a lot. both about their work and them as people.

The most beautiful minds

Extremely interesting background story to many economic models. Especially for people with a background or an interest in finance who have also read „Misbehaving“ by Richard Thaler.

Interesting if set in the right context
