Inhaltsangabe

Richard Bandler, co-creator of NLP and the man who inspired Paul McKenna to greatness, collaborates with Alessio Roberti and Owen Fitzpatrick to reveal how to unleash your true potential and transform your life.

Richard Bandler - the world-renowned co-creator of NLP who has helped millions around the world change their lives for the better - has teamed up with Italian NLP Master Trainer Alessio and co-founder of the Irish Institute of NLP Owen, to craft a simple yet engaging story of one man’s personal change and discovery, to help listeners understand the remarkable principles of NLP.

Inspiring and easy to listen to, this fable recreates the experience of being at a workshop with Bandler. Rather than explaining the theories, An Introduction to NLP illustrates the principles and simple techniques that Bandler has developed over the past 35 years in action. This inspirational book gives you the tools to change your life, overcoming the things that are holding you back: your phobias, depression, habits, psychosomatic illnesses, or learning disorders. Through the simple techniques of NLP, you too can become a strong, happy, successful person and achieve your goals.

Beware-NLP is a money making system not self-help

Why is NLP a money making machine especially for Richard Bandler and for certified trainers. Looking at the content NLP it is not evidence-based but it uses the placebo effect, i.e. you go from bad to good when you believe in it. This effect is completely legitimate and NLP is a great system within the placebo domain. However, what makes it unethical is the commercialisation. NLP courses should never be sold at $ 3,000. Because NLP belongs to the placebo system and it should be categorised in the free economy.

So why was NLP so successful? The reason is because it deals with offering solutions to human drama. Humans live in drama and they want to get out of it. For example, a Shaman can cure a depressed person by asking the person to bring him his urine and after adding sugar to the piss secretly, the Shaman tells the person to drink it again. Surely it doesn't kill the person and a compelling story can be added by saying the urine itself tastes horrible but when the Shaman adds the sugar to it it tastes sweet and this new potion transforms a depression into happiness.

There's nothing wrong with the placebo effect. But what is unethical is the commercialisation of fake beliefs and NLP is just one of them. The co-creator Richard Bandler actually tried to assume exclusive ownership of the Society of NLP from NLP founder John Grinder in the 90s. This clearly shows the greed of Bandler to make NLP a money making machine.

To conclude, there is nothing wrong to study the placebo effects and NLP, but do not waste a single cent on Pseudoscience. If you don't get it for free then don't touch NLP.
