Even if the audiobook had not been for free, I wouldn't have regretted buying it and it is worth a purchase. The story and the speakers are good, even though I'm not a fan of the letters read in "present voice" as that third "narrative level" isn't especially beneficial to the story in my opinion.
All in all, still a good (audio)book.

Loved it so much I already ordered printed copy! Seriously can’t recommend it enough. It is easy to get into, gripping, unpredictable and just wonderfully inspiring! it doesn’t hurt that my personal life story has striking parallels I couldn’t help but notice - and take a hint or two about how to live my life. What else can you ask from a novel?!! Absolutely love it!

Omg, the book utterly made me bawl my eyes out. So heartbreaking and just painful but also beautiful. The author needs a damn medal for the ending.

eine packende Liebesgeschichte während des 2. Weltkriegs. Ein sehr überraschende und ausgeklügelte Ende. Absolut empfehlenswert!

This book is phenomenal. It has everything, romance, comedy, heartbreak. The twists are amazing. I couldn’t count the number of times I laughed out laughing, gasped for exasperation, or cried. I loved every second of it!

The Book has everything you could wish in a romance novel. It also talks about the reality of war, word war 2 to be exact.
I also enjoyed having two love stories unfold.
