This is not one of my favourite heyer novels. But I have run through those available as audiobooks by now. And the talisman ring is delightfully funny. With the reduced cast and restricted location it produces a story where the character sketches and exaggerations take centre stage. And they make you burst out laughing at least every 15 minutes. It’s a slapstick novel more than a romance.
